I bought one first time around back in 1981.
Compared to today's sizing a large would be more like a small.
The badge was an 'iron on'. I remember that because it was damaged. Also the Adidas logo was quite small.
The repros are easy to spot by the comparatively large logo and the stripes on the arms aren't stitched in very well.
I sold mine on eBay several years ago. Went for a considerable sum.

the one by david price is the one im looking to buy. but all them shirts have the adidas logo inside the neck ?? thought it would be real and they look worn and old

yeah i can see the difference. the trouble is i cant find any anywhere, having a nightmare, they come up small so im looking for a large, cant stand wearing it like its painted on. thanks alot anyway

But with that particular shirt it's one of the most faked. I would also be weary if it's in very good condition. So many of them look new which is already a dodgy sign. I would rather buy a match worn version, you can will pay twice the price but just to be sure.

I don't like that particular home shirt myself.
I've got the 83-85 Avco shirt (replica), much better than buying a new one, wear it playing football in too.

When did they start making these footy shirts for adults ?
As a kid you never saw an adult in repro shirt..never saw them for sale either. Infact the only place I remember seeing West Ham Shirts was on that sports stall in Romford Market.

The ones sold in the shops had a cheap shit stuck on badge. The team wore sewn on badges.

There are so many fakes of that particular shirt. You have to really check the badge and the Adidas sign.
